The Archimandrite Father Abbot. David Petrovici


On the 1st of July 2010, the hieromonk father David Petrovici was appointed in the obedience of abbot of the Caraiman Monastery from town Buşteni, Prahova district.

The father met at the time of the appointment as abbot also the obedience to the Exarch of the monasteries from the mountain area of the Prahova district.

Father David Petrovici was born in Bucharest on the 7th of March 1981. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Theology “Patriarch Justinian” from Bucharest, and a master graduate of the studies at the Faculty of Theology “Patriarch Justinian”, having the specialization of pastoral and liturgical life; and a master graduate of the studies at the Faculty of History and Geography, Geopolitics and International Relations department.

He answered the monastic call in 2002, when he entered the monastery as a brother in the parish of the Crasna Monastery from Prahova district. He was anointed in monasticism in the same year, and in 2003 he was ordained deacon.

He was ordained priest on the Feast of Holy Emperors Elena and Constantin in 2005.

In the Monastery Crasna he accomplished several submissions: trapeze artist, cashier, secretary, accountant and he was involved in the construction activities carried out within the monastery.

In the fall of 2010 he was elevated Protosinghel.

On the 4th of August 2013, Blessed Father Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, has commited the Divine Liturgy at the Caraiman Monastery together with All-Holy Galaction, Bishop of Alexandria and Teleorman, and with All-Holy Timotei, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Spain and Portugal, surrounded by a group of priests and deacons.
The Romanian Patriarch ordained as an Archimandrite father David Petrovici, as abbot of Caraiman Monastery and exarch of monasteries from the mountain area of the Archiepiscopacy of Bucharest.
